Sep 6 2010 - Byron Leftwich (Steelers) QB Byron Leftwich, who has a second-degree MCL sprain, wants to play in the second game, at Tennessee. Coach Mike Tomlin said he will list Leftwich as "doubtful" for this week.

Sep 6 2010 - Donovan McNabb (Redskins) QB Donovan McNabb returned to practice on Monday for the first time since spraining his left ankle on Aug. 21 against Baltimore.

Sep 6 2010 - Donovan McNabb (Redskins) QB Donovan McNabb practiced Monday for the first time since spraining his left ankle in the second preseason game. Coach Mike Shanahan said on his coach's show that he's optimistic McNabb will be ready for the regular-season opener, and took part in at least the early portion of practice.

Sep 6 2010 - Josh Freeman (Buccaneers) QB Josh Freeman, who sat out the final two preseason games with a fractured finger on his throwing hand, was able to practice without a glove Monday.

Sep 6 2010 - Brodie Croyle (Chiefs) QB Brody Croyle appears to have recovered from whatever right-arm injury he suffered in the preseason opener back on August 13. Croyle played most of the preseason finale against the Packers and showed no effects from any type of arm problem.

Sep 5 2010 - Donovan McNabb (Redskins) QB Donovan McNabb continues to recover from an ankle injury, but coach Mike Shanahan said on his weekly coach's show that he feels "very good" about McNabb being ready for the Sept. 12 regular-season opener against Dallas. McNabb sprained his ankle in the second preseason game, and hasn' t played or practiced since.

Sep 3 2010 - Byron Leftwich (Steelers) QB Byron Leftwich has a sprained MCL in his left knee on Thursday and could miss up to six weeks. Leftwich was scheduled for an MRI. He was considered the placeholder for starter Ben Roethlisberger, who is facing a suspension of at least four games to begin the season.

Sep 2 2010 - Byron Leftwich (Steelers) QB Byron Leftwich left Thursday's preseason game four minutes into the second quarter with a left knee injury. The likely starter in Ben Roethlisberger's absence for at least the first four games of the season, Leftwich was replaced by Dennis Dixon.

Sep 1 2010 - Brodie Croyle (Chiefs) QB Brodie Croyle was back taking a normal practice load after suffering some sort of right arm injury on Aug. 13 playing against the Atlanta Falcons. Croyle was shelved from serious throwing for two weeks and he was wearing a pad on his right forearm.

Sep 1 2010 - Donovan McNabb (Redskins) QB Donovan McNabb will miss a second straight preseason game Thursday at Arizona with a sprained left ankle but is hopeful for the Sept. 12 opener against Dallas.

Aug 31 2010 - Jim Sorgi (Giants) QB Jim Sorgi was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Sorgi entered training camp pegged to be the No. 2 quarterback for the Giants. He suffered a shoulder injury that has been slow to heal.

Aug 30 2010 - Jason Campbell (Raiders) QB Jason Campbell was back at practice for the Raiders on Monday, two days after he sustained a stinger against the 49ers and also injured his wrist. Coach Tom Cable said the wrist was a bigger concern.

Aug 30 2010 - Jim Sorgi (Giants) QB Jim Sorgi isn't improving at a pace necessary to return to the field early in the week. He said his injured right shoulder is improving only slightly and will miss Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots.

Aug 30 2010 - Jason Campbell (Raiders) QB Jason Campbell isn't concerned about the shoulder stinger that sent him to the sideline against the 49ers, but a wrist injury that will require closer evaluation is a chief concern for the Raiders.
Campbell injured his wrist the series before he was sacked and carted off the field on a hit by Travis LaBoy.

Aug 29 2010 - Jimmy Clausen (Panthers) QB Jimmy Clausen all but admitted that his surgically repaired big right toe could be a problem all season.
Clausen underwent surgery in early January to repair two torn ligaments in his toe, an injury the Notre Dame product sustained last Sept. 19 in a game against Michigan State.
"I still don't feel 100 percent right now," Clausen said Tuesday, one day after sitting out practice to rest the toe. "The doctor said it's probably going to be until after the season until I feel 100 percent. I'm going to have to play through some aches and pains until the season is over. That's just the nature of football."

Aug 29 2010 - Jason Campbell (Raiders) QB Jason Campbell completed 6 of 8 passes for 93 yards but sustained a stinger to his left shoulder and left the game in the first half. Coach Tom Cable said he thought Campbell would be ready for the season opener against Tennessee.

Aug 29 2010 - Jason Campbell (Raiders) QB Jason Campbell was diagnosed with a stinger after being carted off the field Saturday night.
Campbell was sacked and remained on the ground for about five minutes after landing on his right shoulder. While he isn't expected to play in the preseason finale, coach Tom Cable said he believes Campbell will be ready for the Sept. 12 regular-season opener.

Aug 29 2010 - Donovan McNabb (Redskins) QB Donovan McNabb's status for the regular-season opener is uncertain due to an ankle injury, coach Mike Shanahan said.
McNabb sat out Friday's preseason game, and is considered day-to-day.
"I really don't know for sure," Shanahan said Sunday. "That's why it's day by day. We'll see how it goes."
Orginally injured in the second preseason game, McNabb will not play in the preseason finale against Arizona on Thursday.

Aug 29 2010 - Jim Sorgi (Giants) QB Jim Sorgi (shoulder), who had hoped to be able to return to practice tomorrow, will not work on Monday, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. Coughlin did not comment on the possibility of Sorgi's availability beyond Monday.

Aug 27 2010 - A.J. Feeley (Rams) QB A.J. Feeley isn't likely to make the trip to Baltimore for the preseason finale as he recovers from a sprained thumb.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo said rookie Sam Bradford would start, but that no decision has been made on who will start the regular-season opener.
"A.J. probably won't make it to the Baltimore game anyway," Spagnuolo said of the Baltimore game. "That's not a definite, but it's going to look like a push, so certainly Sam will start."

Aug 26 2010 - Jim Sorgi (Giants) QB Jim Sorgi senses his job as Eli Manning's backup could slip away if he doesn't get back on the field sooner rather than later. Manning is expected to play this week -- he sat out last week's preseason game to recover from a lacerated forehead -- but Sorgi, who left the preseason opener in which Manning was injured with a shoulder injury, was given a recovery time of 3-4 weeks.
He's pushing to get back on the field by early next week to avoid losing more ground to Rhett Bomar. "In my mind, I feel like I have to play next week," he said.

Aug 25 2010 - Jim Sorgi (Giants) QB Jim Sorgi said he thinks there's a possibility he'll be ready to play in next Thursday's preseason game as he recovers from a torn anterior capsule in his right shoulder. "Trying to stay away from things that irritate it and playing it because you don't want to set yourself back right now. Another week is bad," said Sorgi. "Another week right now would be terrible so taking it slowly. We've got three or four days until hopefully we have to see if we can push this thing a little bit. We're taking it slow. It's a little unnerving and little frustrating. A few sleepless nights, and you realize you've got to do with what the hand you're dealt, and this is my hand right now and I'm going to do the best I can to get through this."

Aug 25 2010 - Eli Manning (Giants) QB Eli Manning plans to play against the Ravens in Saturday's preseason game. Manning sat out Saturday's loss to the Steelers to recover from the three-inch laceration on his forehead, an injury he suffered in the preseason opener against the Jets. He resumed weaing a helmet on Wednesday after wearing a baseball cap the previous two days. The new helmet is designed to fit extra tight.
