PLAYER NOTES:
Jun 17 2010 - K Mason Crosby won't face competition from another kicker in training camp.
Jan 14 2010 - K Mason Crosby's wayward 54-yard field-goal attempt in the postseason loss to the Cardinals cemented a forgettable final two months for the kicker. He went through a stretch of four games with a field-goal miss in each one and finished the regular season at a career-worst 75 percent accuracy (27-of-36). Green Bay figures to give Crosby competition during the offseason.
Jan 11 2010 - K Mason Crosby walked away from his toughest of three NFL seasons with a conviction that he was kicking the football well late in the season. Crosby struggled down the stretch and finished the regular season a shaky 27-of-36 (75 percent) on field-goal tries. He made one of two attempts Sunday, missing wide right from 54 yards in the indoor setting.
Dec 31 2009 - K Mason Crosby's two field goals in the Sunday rout of the Seattle Seahawks came in handy, not only for restoring the team's confidence in him after he had missed a field-goal try in each of the previous four games but also for etching his name in the league record book. Crosby has 390 career points, topping the 388 by the New England Patriots' Stephen Gostkowski from 2006 to '08 for most points scored by a player in his first three seasons.
Dec 29 2009 - K Mason Crosby made amends for four straight games with a field-goal miss by connecting on both of his attempts in the Packers' 48-10 rout of the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. A 52-yard kick in the fourth quarter that he booted in subfreezing temperatures at Lambeau Field capped a much-needed turnaround for Crosby, whose job security was tenuous with a 24-of-33 season conversion mark entering the game.
"I had a good approach, I had a lot of confidence, a lot of positive thoughts," Crosby said. "I felt good coming into the game, and I was glad we capitalized. … We're going into the playoffs now, and we've got to take care of it."
Sep 23 2009 - K Mason Crosby is being given some more time off from kicking during the week to rest a lower abdominal strain. The injury flared up after the season opener, and Crosby didn't kick until Friday before the last game. He should be OK to handle the kicking chores Sunday.
Sep 18 2009 - K Mason Crosby (abdomen) was limited Friday but is listed as probable.
Sep 17 2009 - K Mason Crosby also is expected to be ready for Sunday's game, though he hasn't done any kicking so far this week after an abdominal strain flared up while he lifted weights Tuesday. Crosby might try to kick Friday. He is the only kicker on the roster, and the Packers don't seem compelled to sign another one before the weekend.
Sep 16 2009 - K Mason Crosby is an unusual casualty on the injury report this week. Crosby has an abdominal strain that flared up while he was lifting weights Tuesday. He didn't kick Wednesday but feels he will be OK for the game. The Packers don't have another kicker.
