PLEASE NOTE: Updates coming soon.

 PLAYER NOTES:

Sep 6 2010 - QB Derek Anderson met media Monday for the first time as a starter in Arizona. He naturally was asked about his time with the Browns, who released him earlier this asked. A reporter prefaced a question by saying, "this Cleveland stuff seems to stick with you." Anderson smile and replied: "Then quit reading it and writing it." Coaches have worked with Anderson on developing some touch. He's a career 53 percent passer, partly because he tends to throw everything at the same speed: very fast. "I haven't noticed anything that's stood out over the past few weeks so, hopefully, we've made progress with that," coach Ken Whisenhunt said.

Aug 31 2010 - QB Derek Anderson will start the preseason finale Thursday, coach Ken Whisenhunt said.

Aug 26 2010 - QB Derek Anderson will start this week's preseason game at Chicago instead of Matt Leinart, who was ineffective against the Titans last week. Anderson will likely play most of the first two quarters while still allowing Leinart a few series with the starters late in the second quarter because coach Ken Whisenhunt wants to see him run the two-minute drill. "I just got some reps with the first team today and I don't know where we'll go from here," Anderson said. "We'll continue to work and get better every day and we will see what happens. "It's not my first time. It's not my first time. I think the last couple weeks have been pretty good and I just want to keep building on that."

Anderson will likely play most of the first two quarters while still allowing Leinart a few series with the starters late in the second quarter.

Jul 22 2010 - QB Derek Anderson is big and has a strong arm, but tends to be erratic. If he can conquer his problems with accuracy, he'll push Matt Leinart.

 INJURY REPORT:

Oct 29 2009 - QB Derek Anderson practiced fully again but remains on the injury report with a sore hip.

Oct 28 2009 - QB Derek Anderson is on the injury report with a sore hip but he had full participation in practice Wednesday and will start Sunday.

Jul 20 2009 - QB Derek Anderson is expected to be fine in time for training camp, a source told ESPN.com. Anderson injured his right calf in June, and the Browns were tight-lipped about the severity of the injury. Cleveland opens camp Aug. 1. Anderson and Brady Quinn will enter training camp neck and neck, coach Eric Mangini said last month. At the start of the first voluntary minicamp, Mangini said Quinn had a slight edge because of the work done in the offseason program. But by the end of the mandatory minicamp Mangini said there is no frontrunner. This, despite the fact Anderson was forced to miss the last two practices. "The best player is going to win it," offensive coordinator Brian Daboll said in June. "They are smart, tough, competitive, and they can both throw the football. We are looking for someone who can get into the huddle, call the play, get the people lined up...understand the whole mechanics of the huddle operation. "The next thing is decision making and who can perform the best under pressure. We've been out there without any pads on. We've been trying to put on as much pressure situations as we can, but when the pads come on that will kind of sort itself out."

Jun 13 2009 - QB Derek Anderson has been sidelined at the recent minicamp with a leg injury, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer but coach Eric Mangini sounds confident Anderson will be ready to go in time for training camp. Mangini declined to elaborate, but said Anderson was out because he "has bumps and bruises."
