 PLAYER NOTES:

Sep 8 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney is aiming for his fourth straight game with a sack against the Texans. Freeney has recorded 12.5 career sacks against Houston.

Aug 1 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney still can't believe all the attention that his sprained right ankle attracted in the week prior to last year's Super Bowl. "(The attention) was ridiculous. Everything is good with this ankle. Obviously it was bad leading up to the Super Bowl. It's definitely blue skies now," he said recently.

Feb 15 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney (right ankle) is expected to be fine after he gets some rest and allows treatment on the ankle to take full effect. He should be able to take part in offseason work.

Feb 8 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney started the game at right end despite missing all of the team's practices since suffering a third-degree sprain and a torn ligament in his right ankle in the AFC Championship Game. He was very effective in the first half, showing his trademark spin moves and bull-rushing Saints left tackle Jermon Bushrod right into the pocket for a sack of quarterback Drew Brees. But the long halftime intermission gave the ankle time to stiffen up. Freeney had it re-wrapped and was seen changing socks on the sideline, but wasn't as effective in the second half as he was in and out of the game. "I think, more or less, after the half there was more stiffness," Freeney said. "I kept on running back and forth (on the sideline), trying to get it going again. ... Obviously it wasn't 100 (percent). It was kind of hard. It loosened a little bit in the second half.

Feb 7 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney is on the active list for Sunday's game. He hasn't practiced all week due to a third-degree sprain and torn ligament in his right ankle. It's uncertain if he will start or how long he will play.

 INJURY REPORT:

Feb 15 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney (right ankle) is expected to be fine after he gets some rest and allows treatment on the ankle to take full effect. He should be able to take part in offseason work.

Feb 7 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney is on the active list for Sunday's game. He hasn't practiced all week due to a third-degree sprain and torn ligament in his right ankle. It's uncertain if he will start or how long he will play.

Feb 5 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney is "trending in the right direction" as he attempts to overcome an ankle injury to play Sunday, Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Friday. However, he did sit out practice for the third consecutive day this week. Freeney has been receiving daily treatment for a third-degree sprain of his right ankle that includes a torn ligament. Caldwell said Freeney is "day-to-day."

Feb 5 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney is "trending in the right direction" as he attempts to overcome an ankle injury to play Sunday, Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Friday. Freeney has been receiving daily treatment for a third-degree sprain of his right ankle that includes a torn ligament. Caldwell said Freeney is "day-to-day," although he missed the team's first two practices of the week. Freeney said he hoped to test pushing off on the ankle Friday or Saturday.

Feb 5 2010 - DE Dwight Freeney said his injured right ankle is "still day-to-day. ... I'm just feeling it out. It's starting to feel a little better and it is starting to look more like an ankle now. "The swelling is going down," he said. "I have yet to test it huge as in a big confidence booster as in sprinting or anything like that. That will probably come maybe Friday or Saturday at some point. That will give me an indication of where I am at, but I know I am moving in the right direction and that is all can ask. It is a balancing act here. You don't want to go too hard too early. You have to make sure everything is right and safe before you go out there."
